Dear Lisa,

The event for which I ordered the vases is my Mother’s 85th birthday.  We have a very special  surprise for her in that an antique water pitcher (over 100 years old) was purchased by her and my Dad when they were newly married and living in Washington, DC where my Dad was in charge of all Air Force Quartermaster Training.  He had just come from serving on Gen. MacArthur’s Staff in the Pacific during WWII. 

They were antique shopping in Georgetown and found the pitcher which Mother thought was a coffee pot and discovered it was not when it melted the bottom when she placed it on the oven.  For almost 70 years she kept it wanting to have it repaired.  I found it in the basement of the family home and asked her about it.  We are having it restored and will present to her at her luncheon party.  We are filled with anticipation waiting to see her surprise and delight.  We are building the luncheon around the pitcher and we, therefore, wanted the guests to take silver with them.  Your vases are the perfect favor!  

Daddy (who asked Mother to marry him on the first date and she said yes on the first date) went to be with the Lord 3 years ago and they had been married for 62 years- loving and adoring each other  for everyday of those 62 years.  They would tell you that it was knowing Christ personally that made the difference in their marriage.

So, you see how very important your service and silver vases are to our special event.  I am grateful for the “mistake” in pricing though I am glad you have now been able to correct it.  

We were fortunate indeed.  I hope the story lets you feel a part of what will be a great day and that your contribution to the event will bring you delight!  We could not have purchased the vases if the price had been correct!
